[[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) An NFL regular-season game at the Stade de France also requires large-scale security deployment on the same weekend. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) ## Why Paris is on alert On Saturday 17 October, Paris was marked by violence and looting, on the sidelines of a mobilisation against the high cost of living. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) Another matchday 8 Ligue 1 game, Toulouse-Troyes, was already postponed due to the political context. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) It was moved from Saturday at 17:15 to Sunday at 17:15. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) The LFP also indicated that the Ligue 2 match between Montpellier and Red Star is postponed to Monday 26 October. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) ## The Ballon d'Or clash The Ballon d'Or 2026 ceremony is scheduled for Monday in London. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) If the match is postponed to Monday, it could create the same scheduling clash with the ceremony. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) Last year, the postponement by one day of the OM-PSG Classique created a scheduling conflict, because the match coincided with the Ballon d'Or ceremony. [[1]](https://rmcsport.bfmtv.com/football/ligue-1/info-rmc-sport-pourquoi-les-autorites-envisagent-un-report-de-la-rencontre-psg-ol_AV-202610210739.html) Several PSG players were prevented from attending Ousmane Dembélé's award.
